What GreekGeek collects, who can see it, and how to download or delete your account.

GreekGeek stores the information a chapter needs to run: your account, your membership, messages, and dues records. This policy says what that includes, who can see it, and how you can take it with you or delete it.

1. What we collect Account data: your name, email address, password (stored by our authentication provider as a hash), profile details you choose to add, and your photo. Chapter data: membership, roles, event responses, housing assignments, and announcements you post. Messages and files you send in chapter conversations. Verification data you submit when applying for a chapter, including a school email address and documents you upload. Payment data: dues balances, receipts, and refunds. Card and bank numbers are collected by Stripe and are not stored by GreekGeek. Technical data: security logs of sensitive actions, such as role changes and payment settings.

2. Why We use this information to provide the service your chapter signed up for, to keep accounts secure, and to keep the financial records chapters and tax rules require. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

3. Who can see it Other members of your chapter can see the profile fields you set to chapter visibility. Officers see more only when their role includes that permission. A treasurer can see balances. A recruitment chair can see recruitment notes. Platform staff cannot read private conversations or recruitment notes. Direct messages are visible only to the people in them. Verification documents are visible only to you and platform reviewers.

4. Your choices You can correct your profile, photo, and notification settings from Account settings at any time. Download my data, on the same page, gives you a copy of your profile, memberships, messages, and chapter applications. This is your right to access the personal information we hold. Delete my account, on the same page, erases that personal information. Deletion is immediate after you confirm it by typing your email address. There is no charge for a request, and you do not need to contact anyone to make one.

5. What deletion removes Your name, photo, phone number, biography, and other profile details. The contents of messages you sent, and files attached to them. Your notifications and notification settings. School email addresses and verification documents you uploaded. Your sign-in email is released so it can be used for a new account, and you are signed out.

6. What deletion keeps Chapters still need a record that a membership, a payment, or an event response existed. Those rows stay, with your name replaced by "Deleted member". Payment and ledger entries stay for as long as tax and accounting rules require, which is typically seven years. They no longer include your name or email address. Security audit logs stay so a chapter can see that an action happened. They are not used to identify you for any other purpose. If you are the only administrator of a chapter, or the only platform administrator, you must hand that role to someone else before deleting your account. That protects the chapter's records and access.

7. How long we keep information Profile and message content is kept until you delete it or delete your account. Financial records are kept for the retention period above, then remain only as anonymous ledger entries. Verification documents are removed when you delete your account, or when a reviewer no longer needs them.

8. Children GreekGeek is for college chapters. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

9. Contact and changes Use Download my data and Delete my account on your account page to exercise these rights. If a request needs something those tools do not cover, contact the officer who administers your chapter. We will post changes to this policy on this page. Where a change affects a chapter agreement, the chapter administrator is asked to accept the new version.

This policy should be reviewed by qualified counsel before GreekGeek is offered commercially.
